Champions League Round 6
The final round of the Champions League league phase is here, which usually brings a mix of tension, chaos, and drama! With some clubs simply tuning up for the knockouts and others still balancing on the edge of qualification, matchday 6 brings several fixtures that are definitely worth watching!
Here are five standout fixtures across Tuesday and Wednesday—and what might unfold.
League Phase – Round 6
📅 Tuesday, 9th December 2025
Bayern Munich vs Sporting CP (18.45 CET)
Bayern’s only stumble this season came in London, but they reacted with a domestic scoring spree—11 goals in three matches. They’re practically untouchable at home: unbeaten since clash with Inter. They also tend to lead for 71% of all UCL minutes this season and topping the charts with 12 first-half goals.
Sporting’s European form is impressive too – they certainly come into Munich with confidence, unbeaten in 12 games! But the away numbers show a different story – just 1 win in their last 9 Champions League trips.
Prediction: Bayern & Over 2.5 Goals
Barcelona vs Eintracht Frankfurt (21.00 CET)
Barcelona are still chasing consistency in Europe, but their domestic form shows they’re putting something together: 5–3 at Betis, 3–1 over Atlético, 3–1 over Alavés. However, their recent Champions League record—just two wins from eight — raises questions.
Frankfurt arrive in Catalonia in off a heavy loss. They’ve taken only one win from their last seven European matches and are coming off two heavy blows: 0–3 vs Atalanta and 0–6 at Leipzig. Their Spanish away record is respectable, but right now, their momentum is frozen.
Prediction: Barcelona & Over 1.5 Goals

Inter Milan vs Liverpool (21.00 CET)
Inter return to San Siro after dominant wins over Como, Venezia, and Pisa (11 goals scored, 1 conceded). Their UCL home record is impressive – unbeaten in 18 and conceding just two goals in their last 11 home league-phase matches. Lautaro Martínez is almost guaranteed to score here, having netted in his last five home UCL appearances.
Liverpool, meanwhile, look like they are struggling. Loss in three of their last four matches, including a 4–1 loss to PSV, they’re failing to find rhythm. None of their last 31 European league-phase games have ended in a draw – but this feels like a test!
Historically, Liverpool have handled Italian sides well, and they’ve won their last three meetings vs Serie A opponents. But if Inter start fast and Lautaro keeps scoring — this one could turn ugly.
Prediction: Both teams to score: Yes
📅 Wednesday, 10th December 2025
Athletic Bilbao vs Paris Saint-Germain (21.00 CET)
San Mamés can be unforgiving, and Athletic’s record at home in European league phases proves it – just two losses in their last 16. They’ve won seven of their last eight on home soil and will try to do that again!
But PSG arrive strong – they’ve just routed Rennes 5–0! Their only recent slip was a narrow loss at Monaco, and João Neves is on the verge of yet another record as he blossoms into a Champions League regular. The Parisians have also won their last three European away matches in Spain.
Prediction: PSG to Win
Real Madrid vs Manchester City (21.00 CET)
Real Madrid and Manchester City have met in each of the last four seasons, and once again they’re meeting near the top of the standings – Madrid already there, City looking to lock in Promotion.
Madrid’s home form elite: 13 wins in their last 14 at the Bernabéu. They’ve sorted themselves out defensively in recent weeks and come off a 3–3 goal-fest followed by a clean 3–0 win in Bilbao. And then there’s Kylian Mbappé – extremely sharp, and with seven goals in seven UCL clashes against City, including last year’s hat-trick in Madrid.
Man City’s league form is steady, but their European results have been mixed: wins over Leeds and Sunderland, but also back-to-back losses to Newcastle and Leverkusen. Haaland is always capable of bending a match to his will – never misses against Spanish teams – City’s won six of their last seven UCL league-phase games against La Liga opponents.
Prediction: Both teams to score: Yes
