Champions League Round 5
Round 5 of the Champions League league phase brings four huge games that fans everywhere will be watching. We have got league leaders Bayern Munich taking on Arsenal, Erling Haaland chasing more goals like he always does, and a big fight at Stamford Bridge.
Let’s take a closer look at what makes each match exciting.
Chelsea vs Barcelona
November 25
Chelsea welcome Barcelona to London in one of the biggest matches of the week. The English side are in excellent form – no losses in their last 5 games. At home in the Champions League, they’ve been very strong this season.
They beat Benfica 1-0 in a tight defensive game, and destroyed Ajax 5-1 showing their attacking power. Chelsea fans at Stamford Bridge will expect another good performance.
Barcelona come to England unbeaten in their last 4 matches. However, their last Champions League away game was concerning – they drew 3-3 at Club Brugge, conceding 3 goals.
The history between these teams at Stamford Bridge is not good for Barcelona. They haven’t won there in their last 5 visits.
Can Barcelona win at Stamford Bridge? Or will Chelsea’s home form continue? This match is important for both teams’ chances to finish in the top positions.
Prediction: Both Teams to Score: Yes

Manchester City vs Bayer Leverkusen
November 25
Manchester City lost 2-1 to Newcastle in the Premier League last weekend. Pep Guardiola’s team will want to respond quickly. The good news for City fans – they’ve won their last 7 home games.
This is the first time these two clubs have ever played each other in competition. That makes it more interesting to watch.
Bayer Leverkusen have shown two different faces this season. They beat Benfica 1-0 away, which was a solid result. But before that, PSG destroyed them 7-2 at home. Which Leverkusen team will show up in Manchester?
Erling Haaland: The Norwegian striker has scored in 5 Champions League games in a row. He’s in amazing form and will be the main danger for Leverkusen’s defense.
Prediction: Man City to Win

Arsenal vs Bayern Munich
November 26
Arsenal are in fantastic form. They just beat Tottenham 4-1 in the North London derby and haven’t lost in 15 games. Only 1 defeat across all competitions this season.
The most impressive stat: Arsenal haven’t conceded a single goal in the Champions League yet. Zero goals against them in Europe. Their defense is working perfectly.
Bayern Munich are also undefeated this season. They showed great character last weekend, coming back from 0-2 down to win 6-2 against Freiburg. Their attacking quality is world-class.
The last time these teams met in Champions League, Bayern won 3-2 on aggregate. But Arsenal at home now are much stronger than before.
This is probably the biggest match of the round. Two teams in perfect form, both unbeaten, both with top defenses and attacks. Arsenal at Emirates are very hard to beat right now, but Bayern have the experience and quality to win anywhere.
Prediction: Draw

Atletico Madrid vs Inter Milan
November 26
Atletico Madrid are in serious trouble – sitting in 17th position with only 2 wins. Both of those wins came at home, where they’re much better. They beat Royale Union SG 2-1 last time to keep their 100% home record alive.
Inter Milan face a tough situation. They lost the Milan derby before traveling to Madrid. That derby was physically and mentally exhausting. Coming to face desperate Atletico after that game will be very hard.
History is important here: Last season, Atletico beat Inter 3-2 at home in a dramatic match that went to penalties. Atletico won the shootout and eliminated Inter. The Italian team will remember that painful night.
Atletico are desperate for points and playing at home where they’re strong. Inter are 100% in the league phase so far, but will be tired from the derby. This match will be tactical and defensive – both teams know how to defend well.
Prediction: Both Teams to Score: Yes
