The Champions League returns this week, and the league phase is already starting to take shape.
With big names clashing, unbeaten streaks on the line, and early-season form being tested, Round 3 promises another exciting couple of nights under the floodlights of Europe.
Here are the fixtures that demand your attention.
Tuesday, October 21, 2025
Arsenal vs Atlético Madrid
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Two teams in excellent rhythm meet at the Emirates. Arsenal haven’t lost in eight matches across all competitions and haven’t conceded a goal in their last three. Mikel Arteta’s side look sharp, confident, and efficient in front of goal.
Atlético Madrid, meanwhile, arrive unbeaten in their last seven but still searching for their first away win of the season. That makes this trip to north London a serious test. Simeone’s men have been solid but not spectacular — the kind of side that frustrates you until they suddenly don’t.
This matchup has all the ingredients of a classic: Arsenal’s fluid attack against Atlético’s trademark discipline. Something’s got to give.
Barcelona vs Olympiacos
Kick-off: 18:45 CET
Barcelona’s 1–2 defeat to PSG in Round 2 was a wake-up call. They controlled large parts of that game but lacked the cutting edge in front of goal. Back at the Camp Nou, they’ll want to make a statement — and Olympiacos might be the perfect visitors for that.
The Greek champions haven’t scored a single goal in the competition so far. While they’re defensively compact, their struggles going forward could make this a long night in Barcelona.
Expect the hosts to dominate the ball, dictate the pace, and look to put things right after last round’s setback.
Bayer Leverkusen vs PSG
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
It’s the kind of fixture that tells you a lot about both sides. Leverkusen have drawn their opening two games — moments of brilliance, but still missing that finishing touch. PSG, meanwhile, have done what they do best: win. Two from two, full of attacking intent, and looking every bit the powerhouse they aim to be.
There’s history here too. The last time these two met in the Champions League was back in 2014 — PSG won both legs, 4–0 away and 2–1 at home. The French side will arrive with confidence, but Xabi Alonso’s Leverkusen are a very different beast now: bold, fast, and fearless.
Villarreal vs Manchester City
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Manchester City have barely put a foot wrong lately. Eight matches unbeaten in all competitions, Erling Haaland scoring for fun.
Villarreal, though, are better than their results suggest. A draw with Juventus and a narrow loss to Tottenham show they can compete, even if the points haven’t come yet. At home, with a lively crowd behind them, they’ll fancy making City work for everything.
Still, City look relentless right now. Expect goals, intensity, and moments of brilliance from both sides.

Bayern Munich vs Club Brugge
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Few sides in Europe look as ruthless as Bayern at the moment. Two games, two wins, eight goals scored — and Harry Kane has been at the heart of it all. A 3–1 win over Chelsea followed by a 5–1 victory at Pafos says everything about their confidence and attacking balance.
Club Brugge, meanwhile, have shown both sides of their game: a brilliant 4–1 home win against Monaco but a 2–1 loss away to Atalanta that exposed some defensive gaps. They’ll need to be at their absolute best to contain Bayern in Munich.
Anything less than a focused performance, and Bayern will punish them.
Eintracht Frankfurt vs Liverpool
Kick-off: 21:00 CET
Liverpool’s season has taken a worrying turn. Their recent 1–2 defeat to Manchester United at Anfield made it four straight losses in all competitions, and they haven’t looked themselves since the start of October. A 1–0 defeat away to Galatasaray in Round 2 added more pressure.
Frankfurt have had their ups and downs too — they were hammered 5–1 by Atlético Madrid last round but started the campaign with a stunning 5–1 win over Galatasaray. Home advantage could make the difference here.
Both teams are desperate for points and confidence, which often makes for great drama. The question is simple: can the Reds stop the slide?
